Description of manuscript content:

The text was verbatim written in Pali and Lao. It contains the manta (incantation) of Thao Vesuvan or Vaisravana, one of the Lokapālas, the four heavenly kings in the Catumahārājika Heaven. Vesuvan is the king of yaksa (giants) and protects the world in the north.

Colophon:

Folio 26 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat (CS) 1227, a hap pao year, on the ninth day of the waning moon of the Cittamat (fifth) [lunar] month, the second day of the week (Tuesday), a kap nyi day, at the time of the forenoon horn (9:00–10:30), the writing of this manuscript was finished. Chao Hüan Khamsut and Bhikkhu Chanthapanya were the first donors who supported the making of this manuscript entitled Sutmon nòi to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5 thousand years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu no (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana).
