The text describes a previous existence of Bhimbha Bhikkhuni or Bhaddā-kaccānā Theri who was born as Massāri with her husband called Sukhuma. Sukhuma was faithful in the Buddhist Teachings. He regularly made merit and donated, but Massāri was stingy and did not do like her husband. After their death, Sukhuma was born in a heaven but Massāri went to hell.
