Description of manuscript content:
The text contains the stanzas used for dispelling all diseases and dangers for oneself and other people. The text refers to the power of the Buddha, of the Individual Buddha, of the Arahuts and of power from other sources such as the Devas, the great teachers of the world and emperors.
Colophon:
Folio 10 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat (CS) 1231, a kot sanga year, on the fiftheenth waxing day of the second [lunar] month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), the writing [of this manuscript] was finished at the time of the morning drum (between 9.00 – 10.30 o’clock). Chao Khun Müang Khunkan, the (Siamese) high commissioner, who was in charge of the Luang Prabang (kingdom), along and his children and his wife, Mae (Mother) Kaeo had the most ardent religious faith in Buddhism to sponsor the making of [this manuscript entitled] Nitsai Chatuvik, fascicle 2, and dedicate it to their daughter I (Ms.) Nukaeo. May this merit support her to obtain the three stages of happiness with Nirvāna as the ultimate state. May it support the Teachings of [the Buddha] to last until the end of 5000 years.
Other notes:
Folio 8 on the verso side: This manuscript belongs to Monk Chantha at Vat Hua Xiang temple.
