The manuscript contains the mantra ajian sirĕp. The word sirĕp means to put someone to sleep by uttering charms over the person. The essence of the charm becomes clear from the following: “…ana gati tanpa bayu, kĕm nungkĕm tingkĕm, rĕp sirĕp”, which means: “…there is a need without wind, bow and bow again, extinguish and extinguish again”. The spell is used to put people to sleep so that their house may be entered without their knowledge. However, according to the Javanese the spell is ineffective without specific acts and rituals being performed at the same time.
Other notes:
The manuscript consists of a small piece of paper and the script uses black ink that is starting to fade. At the start the text is illegible because the ink has disappeared. There are small holes in the upper margin.
