The manuscript is a continuation of the Kitab Obat Melayu number DS 0058 00025. The text contains recipes for herbal medicines and how to administer them for a number of illnesses in Malay culture . The ingredients mentioned in the text are: mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana), jalawi fruit, young areca nuts (Areca catechu), sesame oil (Sesamum indicum), Indian Mulberry leaves (Morinda citrifolia), salt, nutmeg flowers and nuts (Myristica fragans), white pomegranate skin (Punica granatum), Javanese cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), manjakani (Quercus infectoria), dadap (Erythrina variegata), and especially for charms: dried buffalo skin. Various medicines are explained for swollen knees, eye potions, defecation, stomach ailments or poisoning etc.
Other notes:
The manuscript is molded and faded and some pages are brittle at the sides causing text to have become illegible. The binding is moldy but the pages are still attached to it.
