The text tells about the Buddha who attended the Buddhist Lent in the Tavatimsa Heaven and completed the delivery of the seven discourses of the Abhidhamma to his former mother in order to return her to motherhood. Later his left and right closed disciples, Sariputta Thera and Moggalana Thera asked the Buddha for permission for their passing to pass away. Sariputta Thera passed away in his hometown, Kalangama and Moggalana Thera passed away at Arasilasa. Then the Buddha considered his own death as he was burdened by illnesses and had been taken good of care by Ananda Thera. The Buddha finally entered Niravana in Kusinara.
