Description of manuscript content:
Long time ago, a wealthy family with two sons, Si Saliao and Siao Savat respectively lived in Bharanasi kingdom. When Siao Savat reached 16 years of age, his parent decided it was time for their children to live on their own. “My dears,” said the father, “if we had two houses, you each could choose the one that you would prefer to live in. One is already built. The time has come to build the other one.” Si Saliao wanted to remain where he was, so he chose the old house. Siao Savat wanted to gain experience, so he chose to build a house for himself.
The string hole is loose. The surfaces of the first and the last folios are dirty. This manuscript is one fascicle of a series of twelve fascicles which are wrapped with a cotton wrapping cloth and a wooden label (mai pi) containing the title “list of Dhamma Siao Savat consisting of 12 fascicles”.
