Vannapavet or Vanappavesanakhandaṃ (the forest-entry section) is the fourth of the 13 sections of the Vetsantara Jataka. The contents tell that Prince Vessantara led Princess Maddī, Jali and Kanha to Mount Vamka. On their way they were welcomed by King Jetarat. The king asked Prince Vessantara to rule Jetarat together with him but Prince Vessantara refused and asked the king the direction to Mount Vamka. When they arrived at Mount Vamka, they stayed in two separate Sala (pavilion) which had already been erected there.

Phò Ī Nyui (the father of Ms. Nyui) and his wife and parents were the principal initiators who had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of [this manuscript-bundle entitled Lam maha Vessantara to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all our wishes and desires come true. Sādhu nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (Amen!, Nirvāna is the greatest bliss).
