While the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavanna monastery in Savatthi, Sariputta Thera questioned the Buddha about the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Teachings of the Buddha. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon describing about the merit derived from making the manuscripts. The ones who had the ardent religious faith to write or make the Teachings of the Buddha on the manuscripts, would become emperors, Indra for many existences.
