The story of Prince Mahajanaka (one of the past lives of Gotama Buddha). Prince Mahajanaka suffered from a shipwreck. He struggled to keep alive swimming the ocean for seven days until a goddess named Manimekhala rescued him.

Nang Phia Na Nüa and Ai (“elder brother”) Maling had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of [this manuscript entitled] Pitaka Nisai Mahasnok (Maha Janaka) to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of the span of these palm-leaves, and of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu (May this be a condition to reach Nirvāna).
