The Bodhisattva was born as Mahosot (the one who has a powered medicine), a son of Sirivatthaka and Sumana, wealthy merchant in Mithila city. When Sirivatthaka grinded the medicine herb and smeared at his forehead, his headache was immediately recovered. At the age of seven, Mahosot demonstrated great architectural talent. Throughout his childhood his wisdom grew. With his excellence, he was one of advisors to King Vitheha of Mithila.
