Since having attained enlightenment, the Buddha was travelling to spread his Teachings to human and heaven beings until the end of his life. After the Buddha passed away, his disciples including monks and lay people built stupas and pagodas for installing the Buddha’s relics in order to worship and recall goodness and virtues of the Buddha. Therefore the Buddha’s relics have been installing in various Buddhist countries in the world.
