Description of manuscript content:
Mahapon or Mahābon means the great forest is the seventh episode of the 13 episodes of Vessantara Jataka. The content describes Brahmin Jujaka was wandering through the small forest and then met Ascetic Accuta who greeted him politely. Jujaka told the foresee ascetic a lie that he was the emissary from Sivi city then the ascetic trusted him easily and welcomed him with fruits and gave him a stay overnight at his hut. The next morning, the ascetic pointed the way to Mount Vamka for Jujaka.

Folio 18 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat (CS) 1269, a moeng mot year, on the ninth waning day of the third [lunar] month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a kot set day. The writing of this manuscript finished in the morning between 7.30 – 9.00 o’clock. Phò Khamfong and Mae Khamfong (Father and Mother of Mr. Khamfong) had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript-bundle entitled Maha Vessantara Jataka, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly).
