Description of manuscript content:
During the Buddha’s time, there was a city state called Angkharattha whose ruler was named Phraya Angkharattha. When the ruler heard news about the new Buddha, he prayed for the Lord Buddha to come. Then the Buddha entered the city of Angkharattha and made the prophecy: “After the Buddha’s Parinibbāna the remains of the right side of his right head (Phra Thaksin Moli) will be enshrined by one of his disciple in this Doi Còm Thong area”. After Lord Buddha had passed away, Phra Maha Kassapa Thera, President of the Sanghas, invited the relics to be put in a golden casket and covered with a pagoda located on Si Còm Thòng Mount. The pagoda and the ordination hall of the monastery were always restored and guarded by monastic servants assigned by city rulers who donated a large amount of money for the monastic maintenance.
