Thereafter, Ratanamaṇi made a nice travel. He met a man that was plowing by using the old mother buffalo which had a baby, crying for milk. But the man, who was the owner of the rice-field, used the buffalo to plow until dark. That man smashed the mother buffalo. The mother buffalo felt pity for her baby that had no milk to drink. Then Phothisat (Bodhisatta) bought the buffalo with 2 salueng (tical). The mother buffalo was very happy and told Ratanamaṇi that whatever he want, he could dig it. From then on, Ratanamaṇi dug and got twenty thousand pieces of gold and brought them back to the house of the foster merchants then returned to his mother. After that, he said goodbye to his mother and adoptive parents in order to enter the forest to pray.
