Description of manuscript content:
The text mentions about the Buddha attained the Buddhist Lent in Tavatimsa Heaven and completed the delivery of the seven discourses of Abhidhamma to his former mother in order to return for her motherhood. Later his left and right closed disciples, Sariputta Thera and Moggalana Thera asked the Buddha for permission for their passing away. Sariputta Thera passed away at his hometown, Kalangama and Moggalana Thera passed away at Arasilasa. Then the Buddha considered for his death, he was trouble with diseases and taken a good care by Ananda Thera. The Buddha finally entered Niravana in Kusinara.

Folio 19 on the recto side: In BE 2505, (AD 1963), a tao nyi year, on the fifteenth waxing day of the fourth [lunar] month, a tao set day, a Sunday, Sathu Phò Thòngthi Phathammo from Vat Phasimahathat (Vat Mah That) of Luang Prabang had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript-bundle entitled Maha Phutthanipphan, fascicle 3 to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Suddhinaṃ vatta me dhanaṃ asavak khayavahaṃ nibbāna paccayo hotu me anãgate kale (May the alms I have already given to be a condition for me to reach Nirvāna in the future). Chan (ex-monk) Bun from Müang Sün is the scribe.
