Description of manuscript content:
Once upon a time in Pharanasi (present-day Benares), a black dog abandoned by its owners gave birth to two daughters who became later very beautiful women. A hunter saw them and reported this to the king who invited both girls to become his queens. The older sister immediately accepted the proposal but the younger was worried about her dog mother who searched for food in the forest. Therefore, she asked deities in the forest to take care of her mother and let her know the way to the city. Then the dog followed her daughters in the city. The older sister was upset of her coming but the younger sister cherished the dog well and requested a huge chest [from someone] for her secret shelter. When the dog died, the chest became full of gold. Later, the younger sister released a butterfly from suffering in a trap and was rewarded with possessions. The older sister imitated her sister but was killed by the butterfly.
