A court official named Uchuka disliked Thananchai. Uchuka convinced the city ruler to have Thananchai lead the army to destroy the kingdom/city (müang) of Aphangkhiya. Meanwhile Uchuka bullied and slandered Kaeo Kanlayani but his vicious deed was revealed; he was therefore imprisoned.
Thananchai arrived in Aphangkhiya and could defeat its ruler with his well-devised strategy. He presented the ruler to the king of Inthapat who greatly rewarded Thananchai and told him the truth about Uchuka bullying his wife. Thananchai asked the king to release him. Uchuka then asked the king of Cetiyarat for help to attack and the scholar of Cetiyarat asked the king of Inthapat a question. If Inthapat city could not answer the question, they must have surrenderred, But Thananchai could answer all the questions. The king of Cetiyarat surrendered and took his army back. Thananchai was then promoted as the great scholar of Inthapat.
