Once upon a time, Bodhisatta was born as a prince named Wanawana at the kingdom of Koti. The vice-queen and a wicked chief official left him back in a forest directly after his birth. His mother was slandered, discharged from her postion as queen to that of a servant putting her into trouble. When prince Wanawana grew up, he ruled the city of Pharanasi (present-day Benares) and later reconquered the kingdom of Koti. At the end Wanawana took his army to the kingdom of Koti. When his father realized the truth, he punished the vice-queen and the wicked chief official. Wanawana returned and ruled the kingdom of Koti making a lot of merit throughout his life.
