Thwai anisong pattiphan (merit of sagacity). The story tells that in the Buddha’s time, King Bibisala asked the Buddha about the three groups of people who do different practices. The people of the first group like to observe the five precepts or the eight precepts, but they do not like to do alms-giving and listen to the Dhamma preaching. The people of the second group like to perform alms-giving, but they do not like to observe the precepts and listen to the Dhamma preaching. The people of the third group like to listen to the Dhamma preaching, but they do not like to do alms-giving and observe the precepts. These three groups, after death, who will ascend heavens and who will go to hells? Then the Buddha gave this sermon to the king and answered all his questions.
