Description of manuscript content:
The story is about salòng nam sang (celebration of a well). Once occasion, while the Buddha was dwelling at the Jeatavanna monastery in Savatthi, Maha Moggallana Thera came and questioned the Buddha. A person who is faithful and makes a well and donates it to the monks, what result will the person gain? Then the Buddha delivered this sermon describing the merit derived from making a well.

Folio 9 on the recto side: In the Buddhist Era (BE) 2515, AD 1973, s salu year (year of the cow), the writing was finished in the morning (between 73.30-9.00 o’clock). Sathu Nyai (great abbot) Onta, the Chairperson of the Buddhist Fellowship Organization of the district of Hun, had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Salòng Namsang, this fascicle to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I reach the three states of happiness and Nirvāna which is the greatest bliss. Nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ hotu niccaṃ.
Other notes:
The edges of the leaves are painted red. Some folios have traces of fractures and mould on the surfaces.
