The story is about salòng pha bing (celebration of a covering robe). Once occasion, while the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, Maha Moggallana Thera came and questioned the Buddha. A person who is faithful and donates a robe for covering a Buddha statue or wrapping a manuscript which contains the Buddha’s teachings, what result will the person gain? Then the Buddha delivered this sermon describing the merit derived from donating a covering robe.
