The text is the translation of Devatā-āyācana gāthā (Invitation to the Devas) from Pali into Lao word by word in Nissaya style.
May the devas, the heavenly beings of the various deva realms of form and of sensuality, the devas residing above the mountains and down in the valleys, celestial and terrestrial, in village homes and in towns, up in the trees, in groves and in the dense jungle, in the dwellings, in the farmlands and in the fields come join us.
And all of the yakkhas, gandhabbas and nagas who have good hearts who are living in the water and on the land - in the rough and badlands as well as smooth and pleasant pastures - may all come to join in our gathering, and listen to the words of the Most Excellent Sage that we are now about to recite. All Honorable Ones, this is the time to listen to the Dhamma.
