The story of the previous life of Gotama Buddha. Once upon a time, Bodhisatta was born as Sukhamanop. In his life, he had a wife named Phimpha Sumali and had children together named Thitatha Kumman, Vimonsali Kummali and Manglikkhali Kummali. Sukhamanop had an ardent religious faith in the Buddha’s teachings. He wanted to build a vihara (abode) for monks but he did not have enough money. He sold his children to other people for money and spent the money for building the abode. Then he and his wife donated the abode to the monks. Later, they both became ascetics and practiced meditation in the forest. Indra knew that, so he came and invented a hut for them.
