The text contains horoscope and rituals. The one side starts with a table of the days in the local Lue calendar. The verso side of the cover folio starts with the words “Speaking about the brushing away of all misfortune from the kingdom of Chiang Tung (khema lacathani)” (ຈັກກ່າວດ້ວຍປັດສັບພະເຄາະກ້ຽງທັງມວນ ຕາມເຂມະຣາຊະທານີສືບມາກ່ອນແລ). The manuscript is illustrated with many diagrams used for reckoning the auspicious days and times for performing daily activities. The manuscript is used by a ceremonial master, who is knowledgeable and respected by the villagers as he knows how to give advice and perform rituals.

The manuscript is incomplete (the first and last pages are missing). The sides on one side and on the reverse side are different: the one side is larger, and the reverse side is smaller. The date of the writing is unidentified. The names of the scribe and sponsors are unknown. The texts were written in Tham Lü and Old Lao scripts with both blue and red inks.
