At the time, King Phommadatta ruled Pharanasi. He had two wives named Chantha Devi and Chamkham. They both wished for a child. One night, Queen Chantha Devi dreamed that the sun fell down on her chest. While Chamkham dreamed that Indra gave her a gold flower. When a royal astrologer predicted that the queen’s child will be a great person, Princess Chamkham envied the queen. She accused the queen of having committed adultery. Thus, the king expelled the queen out of the city. The queen lived with a couple gardeners. Later, she gave birth to a son. But her son was living in a golden shell.
