Description of manuscript content:
At one time, the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavanna Monastery in Savatthi, Venerable Sariputta came to the presence of the Buddha and questioned the Buddha about the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Teachings of the Buddha. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon describing the merit derived from making the manuscripts. Those who had the ardent religious faith wrote or made the Teachings of the Buddha on the manuscripts, gain many results and will become emperors, Indra for many existences.

Folio 9 on the recto side: The writing of this manuscript was finished at the time of the afternoon’s drum (between 13.30-15.00 o’clock). Phò (father) Kam and his wife, together with their children had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Lam Pitaka Thang 3, to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May we all reach the three states of happiness with Nirvāna is the greatest bliss, may all my wishes and desires not be ignored. Sādhu sādhu nibbāna paccayo hotu (Amen, amen! May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana).
