At one time the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavanna Monastery in Savatthi, Venerable Sariputta came to the presence of the Buddha and questioned the Buddha about the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Teachings of the Buddha. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon describing the merit derived from making the manuscripts. Those who had the ardent religious faith wrote or made the Teachings of the Buddha on the manuscripts, will gain many results and will become emperors, Indra for many existences.
