Description of manuscript content:
The story tells about performing dana parami (the perfection of generosity) of the Buddha. When Bodhisatta was born as a wise rabbit who sacrificed his life. The rabbit lived in the forest. One day, Indra transformed himself as a brahmin walking to the rabbit. The brahmin asked for food from the rabbit. The rabbit said that I do not have food, if you want you should eat me. The rabbit told him to make a fire, then the rabbit jumped into the fire. But the fire was cold. So, the rabbit did not die. Then the brahmin said “Wiseman! I am not brahmin, I am Indra. I come here to test your mind. Your goodness must be always presented. Then Indra drawed a picture of the rabbit on the moon.

Folio 24 on the recto side: Sangkat thousand 2 hundred 9 (CS 1209), a moeng mot year, on the fourth day of the waxing moon of the second lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), a kat hao day, the writing of this manuscript was finished in the morning (between 7.30-9.00 o’clock). Phò (father) Uttha and his wife, together with their children jointly had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Lam Sappha parami, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu sādhu sādhu dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbana certainly. Amen!).
