Description of manuscript content:
While residing at the Jetavanna monastery, Sariputta Thera and devas questioned the Buddha how will his Teachings be after the end of 5,000 years? The Buddha referred to a sermon of his which he delivered to the five ascetics. After his Teaching passed through 500 years, there will not be bhikkhuni (female monks). No arahant after 1,000 years. No one can recite the Tipitaka after 2,000 years. The monks will not do the Uposatha after 3,000 years. The one who has a piece of the yellow rope on his shoulder will be called a monk, after 4,000 years. No Buddhist monk after 5,000 years.
