The content tells the story of Monk Vangkhisa (Venerable Vamgisa Thera). While dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha spoke about a monk and delivered this sermon. Brahmin Vangkhisa was a fortune teller by knocking the skull of a dead body. He could predict that this skull of the person who was reborn in hells, realm of hungry ghosts, realm of beasts, host of demons, human world or heavens. Later, the Buddha tested him with five skulls. The first four skulls, each belongs to one who was reborn in hell, realm of beasts, human world or heavens. The fifth skull belongs to arahanta (holy one). Vangkhisa could predict the first four skulls correctly. But he could not predict the fifth skull. Finally, he surrendered the Buddha and asked the Buddha for ordination. Firstly, he intended to learn the Buddhist spells from the Buddha. Later he obtained arahatship.
