Description of manuscript content:
The text tells about the story of Doitao stupa. In the Buddha’s time, the Buddha accompanied with 500 bhikkhus including Venerable Ananda Thera travelled to a hill named Doi Tao where the hair relics of the previous Buddhas had been installed. Later King Asoka built the sputa to protect the relics. In Buddhist Era 800, a bhikkhu and a devoted girl named Sutsada who had religious faith, they together made a statue of the Buddha of a crystal. This made the people misunderstood and accused them of having sexual misconduct but not true. The head district of the village ordered to kill Sutsada.

Folio 17 on the recto side: In Cunlasakkarat 2 thousand 9 hundred 708, a moeng sai year, on the first day of the waxing moon of the sixth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing of this manuscript was finished at the time of the afternoon’s drum (between 13.30-15.00 o’clock). Phòthao Saen Siracksa had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Lam Doitao, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu me (May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbana).
