Description of manuscript content:
The story of Kung or Sakung stupa. After attaining enlightenment, the Lord Buddha met two trader brothers named Trapusa and Bhanlika respectively. They offered food of refreshment of honey mixed with ghee to the Buddha. The two traders became the first lay disciples of the Buddha, who took refuge in him and his teachings. After the meal, they asked the Buddha for his souvenir. Thus, the Buddha gave them his eight hairs. They received the hairs with the most pleasure. Then they built a stupa on the Si Khutara Mount for enshrining the Buddha’s relics of hairs in order for people and divine deities to pay respect and to worship.
