Description of manuscript content:
The story tells of a farmer couple who lived in their farmhouse. One day, a monk wandered to their farm. The couple invite the monk to stay overnight at their farmhouse. At night the couple talk with each other about the food for the monk. The wife said we have a hen, we should kill the hen to cook food. When the hen hears that she talks to her six chicks. I shall be killed by the next morning. When the chicks hear that they are so sad. Finally, they all decide to die along with their mother. In the next morning the couple kill the hen to make food for the monk. While a fire is made, the six chicks jump into the fire and die along with their mother. After death, they all are reborn in the sky as a group of seven stars called dao kai noi (stars of little chicks).
