Description of manuscript content:
The story tells on one occasion, while dwelling at Isipattana in Sarnath, the Buddha spoke about Nandiya Upasaka and delivered a sermon of this jataka. One occasion, Nandiya Upasaka had a chance to listen to the Buddha’s preaching on the merit derived from building the monastery. After the preaching, Nandiya was faithful in the Buddha’s teachings, he built a temple, a stupa and an abode at Isipatana and donated them to the Buddha and Buddhist monks. One day, Mahamoggalana ascended to the Tavatimsa Heaven, the Venerable saw a divine castle with many fairies. The Venerable entered the castle and asked Devaputtas about the castle. He was informed that the castle was erected for Nandiya who built the monastery at Isapatana for the Buddha.
