Description of manuscript content:
While the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavanna Monastery in Savatthi, Sariputta Thera questioned the Buddha about the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Teachings of the Buddha. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon describing the merit derived from making the manuscripts. The ones who had the ardent religious faith to write or make the Teachings of the Buddha on the manuscripts, would become emperors, Indra for many existences.

Sangkat (CS) 2000 and 9 hundred 707 (CS 1277), a hwai si year, on the twelfth day of the fifth lunar month, a moeng mao day, Mae-òk (lay woman) and her children jointly sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Pitaka Thang 3, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May our wishes and desires come true. May we attain Nirvāna, please.
