Description of manuscript content:
The text was written in Nissaya style. The story tells about the striving for enlightenment of Ascetic Gotama. After Sujata’s meanl, Gotama went to Gaya. The ascetic received eight handfuls of glass from Brahmin Sotthiya. He sat down under a banyan tree. After sitting, he made this resolution: “Though my skin, my nerves and my bones shall waste away and my life blood go dry, I will not leave this seat until I have attained the highest wisdom, called supreme enlightenment, that leads to everlasting happiness”.
Other notes:
The left end and middle of the leaves are damaged with bites by rats. The damages affected the inscribed texts.
