The manuscript is divided in 77 parts that deal with questions about the Islamic faith. The text is a commentary (sharḥ) on a poem on the various parts of the Islamic faith which itself is a translation of a text in Persian written by Nūr al-Dīn al-Ījī.

At the start of the manuscript is written wa ṣāḥib hadha al-kitāb Madyān. Another text in the form of a poem (syair) on the various parts of the faith precedes the main text. The text is written in black ink with rubrications in red.
