Description of manuscript content:
The Buddha gave his Teaching to the king of Malla city named “Sunanda.” The king questioned the Buddha about future Buddhism. The Buddha said, after his parinibbāna, Dhamma and Vinaya would replace the Buddha. Arahantship will still be common at early stages but decline later. At the end of the 5000 years of Buddhism, the religion will deteriorate strict because people will not follow the Buddha’s Teachings. After that, there would be a new Buddha named “Metteyya” Who will teach human beings as the way Buddha Gotama did. Those who always make donation, observe Buddhist precepts, and do meditation will reach Nibbāna in the period of Buddha Gotama. Those who have not accumulated enough merit are suggested keeping donations, precept observance, and meditations, as well as praying to be reborn in the period of Buddha Metteyya.
