Description of manuscript content:
Puggalapaññatti is the sophisticated high-level Dhamma defining regulations and elevations of humans’ minds: minds of those who cannot refrain defilements, minds of those who can refrain defilements sometimes, and minds of those who can completely refrain defilements.
Other notes:
This manuscript consists of six fascicles. The wooden marker reads “this palm-leaf manuscript is [one of the seven treatises of] Pāli Abhidhamma Piṭaka entitled Puggala-Paññatti, including six fascicles. The sponsors were Mün Net, his wife, and his relatives. Their intention was to ensure the continuation of the five-thousand-year Buddhist era.”
(The left side of the first folio) “Puggala-Paññatti, first fascicle.”
