After knowing that Khemādevī, using her skillful means, told Jittasenā in the form of Brāhmadatta to show how to take off the spirit from the body. He took off his spirit to reside in the dead deer. Brāhmadatta saw that he then resided his spirit in his own body. After that he told his army Bandusenā killed Jittasenā’s spirit in the deer. Khemādevī was amazed by the way of taking off a spirit. She asked Brāhmadatta to teach the subject. But Brāhmadatta rejected her proposal. As a result, she was very sad and died from a broken heart.
After that Brāhmadatta wanted Sugandhā to be his wife, but her father, a king of Saṅkassanagara city, did not allow. The king said that one who could make Sugandhā speak would be allowed to marry her. Brāhmadatta was finally successful, and he was then allowed to marry Sugandhā.
