Description of manuscript content:
Chakhattiya Kaṇḍa or Sakkhatti (the six princes) is the twelfth of the 13 episodes of the Vessantara Jataka. The story tells that King Sonsai (Sanjaya) accompanied by Queen Phussatī, Jali, Kanha and four ministers traveled to Mount Vamka in order to invite the ascetic Vessantara to return to Sivi. While the six nobles were facing each other, each of them was crying bitterly and they became unconscious. Then it started to rain which made everyone regain consciousness. Then all of them apologized to Vessantara for their mistakes and invited him to abandon his ascetic robe and return to the city.
