Description of manuscript content:
Nagara or Nakhon (entering the city) is the 13th of the 13 episodes of the Vessantara Jataka. The text tells of Vessantara who abandoned his ascetic robe and left his hermitage. The prince dressed in royal attire and returned to Sivi. He ruled his kingdom with royal virtue and died at the age of 120 years. He entered the Tusita Heaven as the male Deity Santusita.

The writing [of this manuscript] was done on the fifth day of the week, CS 1256, a kap sanga year, at the time of the forenoon horn. The donors were Phra Inthawichai and his family who had religious faith in accumulated merit and Nibbāna and provided palm leaves to be inscribed with the Vessantara text to ensure the continuation of the five-thousand-year Buddhist era. Nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ.
