Description of manuscript content:
Thanakhan or Dānaka means "Alms-giving" is the third episode of the 13 episodes of Vessantara Jataka. The text mentions Queen Phussadī, the mother of Prince Vessantara talked with her husband, King Sonsai (Sagjaya) who ruled Sivi kingdom, requested for reducing the punishment of banishing for her dear son. But her effort was fail. Before leaving the kingdom, Prince Vessantara distributed many things as gifts which called "Satta jataka maha dana" (seven kinds of alms-gifts) including elephants, horses, carts, servants, dairy cows, male and female slaves, 700 each. After that Prince Vessantara, his wife Maddī and his two children, Jali and Kanha left the kingdom directing to the Vamka’s mountain.

Folio 15 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat 20002 hundred and 8 (corresponding with CS 1208), a hwai sanga year, on the eleventh waning day of the eleventh [lunar] month, the first day of the week (Sunday), a kot set day, the writing of this manuscript was finished at the time of the sunset drum (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Phò Khampha and his wife, children, grandchildren, and all their relatives and friends had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript-bundle entitled Lam Maha Vessantara Jatak to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hotu no dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ nidhitaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvāna which is the greatest bliss, as the final goal, certainly).
