Description of manuscript content:
Vanappavesana (the forest-entry section) is the fourth section of the 13 sections of the Vessantara jataka. The contents describe that Prince Vessantara led Princess Maddi, Jali and Kanha to Mount Vamka. On their way to Mount Vamka they were welcomed by King Jetarat. The king asked Prince Vessantara to rule Jetarat kingdom together with him. But Prince Vessantara denied and asked the king for directions to Vamka hill. When they arrived at Mount Vamka, they separately stayed in two Sala (pavilion) which had already been erected there.

I, Khanan (ex-monk) Inthawichai, wrote [the manuscript] for Novice Bunto. Monks and novices who read it are suggested using it carefully because I am not good at inscribing palm-leaf manuscripts. The manuscript commission was sponsored by Novice Bunto who hired scribes to copy the manuscript to ensure the continuation of the five-thousand-year [era] of the Teachings of Buddha. May I enjoy the three kinds of happiness of which Nibbāna is the ultimate one.
