Description of manuscript content:
The Buddha, residing at Jetavānārama Mahāvihāra, told the bhikkhus one of his previous lives during which he had been a medi caster. In the village of Udumbara, situated in the kingdom of Pataliyuga, lived Jaya sangaha, a seṭṭhi's son. This young man became an expert in the use of incantations and medicines. He took care of patients coming from all parts of the world. He once took care of a setthi's daughter who, after having recovered, became his wife and bore him a daughter named Candasangaha. Sometime later, the king of Pataliyuga fell seriously ill and was healed by Jayasangaha who, in return, was placed on the throne and reigned under the name of Dhammasangaha.
