Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript narrates the story of a king of Takkasila who moved his troops to defeat several polities (müang). The polities that neglected surrendering to the king were defeated. Most of the cities were fearful to his troops and surrendered, except for Mithilā city. The citizens of Mithilā fought against him to guard their city until they eventually won.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript] was completed on the third day of the week in CS 1253, a ruang mao year, on the fourteenth waning-moon day of the tenth [lunar] month. Novice Maṅgala wrote this manuscript while taking care of Khruba Sommana at Wat Si Bun Rüang Kaeo Kwang, Tha Thang Rim Thang. I wrote this manuscript. May I gain sharp wisdom, be reborn in heaven, and reach the threefold happiness of which Nibbāna is the ultimate one. May this merit be transferred to my family members and my teachers. Because my handwriting is not beautiful, please monks and novice be careful when using it. Feel free to correct mistakes.
