Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript narrates the story of a king of Takkasila who moved his troops to defeat several polities (müang). The polities that neglected surrendering to the king were defeated. Most of the cities were fearful to his troops and surrendered, except for Mithilā city. The citizens of Mithilā fought against him to guard their city until they eventually won.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript was completed] in CS 1253, a ruang mao year, by Novice Mano. My handwriting was inconsistently small and big, just written along the lines and still readable. The writing of this manuscript was completed at the time of the evening horn. I was very hungry and had back pain. My concentration was not stable because I am not experienced. May I attain the threefold happiness of which Nibbāna is the ultimate one. May I possess sharp wisdom. Nineteenth fascicle of Suvaṇṇajaṃbū, belonging to Wat Ban Hong Luang. Those from other monasteries who borrow the manuscript are obliged to return it. The letters are not consistent because the gaps between the lines are not stable.
