Vanṇabrāhmaṇa eloped, one day, with Bimbasena, King Brahmadatta's daughter, and took her away on his flying hamsa. During their flight, Vannabrāhmaṇa was stranded on an island while Bimbasena, left alone in the jungle, gave birth to a boy. The child was found and adopted by the king of Käsi. Bimbasena walked all the way to Kasi and took refuge with the keeper of the parc. Only after many years had passed, could Vannabrāhmaṇa be reunited with his family.
Colophon:
[The writing of this manuscript was completed] in CS 1214, a tao cai year, the rainy season, on the fifth waxing-moon day of the twelfth [lunar] month, the seventh day of the week. I, Novice Inda, have just recently learnt to inscribe palm-leaf manuscripts thereby being not good at it. My handwriting thus looks like hen scratching. Ahaṃ nāmaṃ I am Novice Inda from Wat Ban Hong. May the merit derived from writing this manuscript be transferred to my family members. I am assisting to Sawathu Cao Gandhā at Wat Ban Hong.
