Description of manuscript content:
Mahāpaṭṭhāna session or Paccaya 24 defines causes and factors of the Dhamma or emotions. For example, if we meritoriously behave, we will be reborn in heaven. If we sinfully behave, we will be reborn in hell. The fact is compared to a deeply rooted Bodhi tree that never falls down by storm. Emotions causing affection, anger, and delusion shake our minds. This is compared to the blind who depends on a rail for a walk or to a cowman who must remember the number and the characters of his cows in order to take care of them.
Colophon:
The principal initiator was Pu (grandfather) Kaeo, together with his siblings, who sponsored the writing of this manuscript entitled Seven Treatises of Abhidhamma, so that Buddhism could be prolonged until [the end of] 5,000 years. May the merit derived from writing this manuscript be transferred to my younger brother named Nan (ex-monk) Sīvijaya.
